COMMUNITY

Here at RunAbout Sports, we are here to support our local runners.

We proudly support Body by Parkway, C&C Runners, Roanoke Valley Trail Runners, and The Original Roanoke Pub Run, as well as other local running/walking groups throughout the valley.

C&C Runners is a local running/walking group founded by Marion Childress, Roanoke’s Running Ambassador. You can catch many C&C runners at local races, events, or on the roads and trails! If you’re interested in joining, contact Marion and he will get you all set up!!

Summer Pub Run Series is in preparation for Salem Health Focus! Anyone who RSVP’s can send us your shirt size on Facebook and we’ll be handing out FREE RunAbout shirts!

Body by Parkway is a 3-4 mile group run/walk that takes place at Parkway Brewing Company in Salem, VA every Thursday evening @ 5:30pm. We head out on the Hanging Rock Battlefield trail and get some miles in before heading back to the pub for a pint or two! Parkway also provides runners with punch cards, and you can earn a penny pint for every 3rd run/walk you attend!! Anyone & everyone is welcome to come run, walk, or just hang out at Parkway. Random food trucks are on-site every week as well as live entertainment!

The Roanoke Valley Trail Runners club was created for all trail runners at different levels to get together and have a relaxing trail run at the beginning or the end of the week. Will at least have two runs a month in Roanoke and surrounding trails. Runs will be 4-6 miles at a nice comfortable pace. Beginners are welcome to join the group and NO RUNNER IS EVER LEFT BEHIND!

The Original Roanoke Pub Run was established in 2008 by John Park. We start at The Village Grill on Memorial near the Grandin Village every Tuesday during the Spring/Summer @ 6pm, then head out on the greenway for 2, 3, 4, and sometimes 5 mile routes. From John- “Established in 2008, we are the originators of the Pub Run in Roanoke. Our goal is to get people out and be active! All fitness levels welcome!!” If you are interested in learning more about The Original Roanoke Pub Run, check them out on Facebook!
